DESCRIPTION

Welcome to Ahoy! by Nevan Naug, a single-player sailing game that features physics-based wind and water systems used by the player to propel their ship, all while dodging obstacles, upgrading/repairing their ship, and surviving long enough to reach the next island.

Ahoy! pushes the boundaries of the racing genre by removing cars, finish lines, and peer-to-peer competition, and instead focuses on movement mechanics, resource management, and reacting to a dynamic environment.

The game follows the captain of a courier ship in a world filled with islands, scattered among the treacherous seas. The player must brave the ocean, and everything that comes with it, to deliver precious cargo to all the islands.

Just like the ocean itself, the maps are quite open ended and allows the player to choose whatever path they wish, as long as they survive and complete the objectives. However, obstacles, power ups, and the dynamic wind system might end up guiding the player’s path in real time, as they strive to dodge, speed up, and make as much money as possible to upgrade their ship.

Download the game and run the unity executable. Use “WASD” to move, while the “Shift” and “Ctrl” buttons are used to control your sail. Pay attention to your surroundings, the wind direction, and the location of the islands to get the fastest times and the highest scores.
